Paula Fabbie, RDH BS
Certified Orofacial Myologist in 2012
Registered dental hygienist 1977
Owner Paula Fabbie LLC

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD) and OM therapy was introduced in 1977, as part of my dental hygiene curriculum. At that time, we were advised to look at adverse dentofacial growth and find the corresponding OMD. My class was encouraged by my professors to attend Garliners program in Coral Gables, FL, so that I may address and treat these soft tissue dysfunctions. Unfortunately, full time employment, and life got in the way of me becoming a Myofunctional therapist. Throughout the years I assessed OMDs in my patients and had the opportunity to shadow a functional orthodontist and other dentists who followed proper rest posture principles. As time went on, I became frustrated with not having any therapists to treat these disorders. In order to help these patients it became clear that I needed to seek the educational process to become a Certified Orofacial Myologist. And in August of 2012, my dream from long ago became a reality. I now have a full time practice, and a dedicated team of doctors and other healthcare professionals that I work closely with. As part of the AAPMD, a non-profit organization, I am lecturing to other health care providers about the benefits of rest posture therapy. I encourage all of you to join this organization which is a portal for professional and public education, and medical referral sources.

Paula Fabbie consults, lectures and has written articles on Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders for dentists, physicians, SLP’s and other healthcare professionals. She can be reached at tonguetutor@gmail.com

Recent Testimonials:

"I attended the Bio-behavioral Aspects of Oral Airway Dysfunction and Sleep Disorders in Children course with Paula and Dr. Zozula on July 9th, 2016. After attending the course I had a clearer understanding of the connections between children’s behavior, sleep and breathing patterns. Not only did they help to connect the dots, but they helped me to establish a clear thought process on how to evaluate and manage these patients on an individual basis. Great course."

"I wanted to thank you for all the work you are doing in the area of sleep disordered breathing. As a parent of children with SDB and probably a sufferer, as well as a professional, I know how critical your work is, how imperative early intervention is, and how misunderstood and misdiagnosed these conditions are. Your seminar was eye-opening, and has helped me further understand the impact SDB has on all aspects of my life and that of my children, as well as that of loved ones and my clients. I am now more tuned into signs and symptoms, that otherwise I would have overlooked. I only wish that I had know about your work 10 years ago, if not 40. Your seminar should be a requirement in all professional schools, as well as a requirement for all parents. I truly believe your knowledge can change the lives of millions."
